Global Catastrophe.

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

January 2020, an unknown virus being reported by the media as being so deadly that it made the city of Wuhan in China to make drastic decisions to go into complete lockdown and to close its borders to anyone entering or exiting the city. It was being reported that the virus came from a person working in a laboratory in China, then we were hearing reports from China that this was a US-led operation to destabilise China. What was the truth no one knew, but what we did know that this virus was spreading like wildfire across the world resulting in significant deaths and leading to lockdowns and border closures? Flights were being grounded, businesses disrupted, Schools, Colleges and Universities closed and were moved to online-learning instead.

Disturbing Images were being reported from all mainstream media across the world, until the virus reached Europe, here in the UK, people were anxiously hoping that no cases occurred - until Mid March - a press conference held by the Prime Minister, which we the nation was dreading, it was reported that some hospitals in London had recorded COVID deaths and so for the safety of everyone the government decided it was in the best interest of the people that we go into a national lockdown for three weeks until the further review. Three weeks they said ... no problem.. but little did we know three weeks turned into 3 months. As it was announced the UK to go into National Lockdown... we saw people panic buying, stockpiling items in their trolleys and not taking into consideration of other people especially the vulnerable who had to rely on others to take them as they didn't have means of transport. It was crazy, no one had ever seen scenes like these before- well especially in the 21st century.

National Lockdown came with its terms: No mixing with another household apart from your own family. No mixing with anyone in the park other than your own household, all businesses closed, retail industry and the hospitality industry all shut. The ones that could switch to working from home did, others were furloughed, and thousands of people left redundant or out of work. School, College and University students all adapted to home learning. Only if it was deemed 'essential' were you 'allowed' to step out of the house to the supermarkets or picking medicines up. The introduction to masks became compulsory when going to supermarkets.

Technology played a very important part this year, as the only way to communicate with family/friends and work colleagues was via a smartphone phone, tablets and laptops. Social media took its highest toll with apps like TickTock, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook all playing a vital part in bringing everyone together and entertained. In so little time we all learnt new skills, from baking with our children to DIY.

If you had a garden you were considered yourselves the lucky ones as this was the only outdoor space we could escape to for fresh air.

Here's my take on this...

In the first lockdown, we saw everyone compiling with the rules, being extra cautious and alert especially when being around people. Despite lockdown, we saw how BLM protests were allowed to go ahead with thousands of people not 'social distancing'. We saw the police were ok with it of which some of them showed their solidarity. It was all ok from the government side. Now, on the other hand, we saw people attending anti-lockdown protests which took place in various cities across the UK, but this time government were against this movement and the police had all its powers to arrest and fine people for exercising their right to freedom of speech. Isn't that being double standards then?

Yes, we the public have established that lockdowns and tier systems do not work. We also know that face coverings do not stop the spread of the virus and that's not me saying it W.H.O have also stated that mask-wearing won't help the spread of the virus.

We are being constantly reminded the virus will be with us for the foreseeable future and so have to learn to live with it, but yet every time the spike on the graph goes up, we are put back into a lockdown. Why? Is it me or do you also feel a bit bamboozled with the daily figures being reported by our marvellous mainstream media?

What we have seen this year is how if the government gets something wrong they blame it on the public. We saw how they blamed the children for the increase of spreading the virus to elderly and vulnerable people, we also saw how they targeted the hospitality sector by saying adults were not socially distanced in such confined areas.

Many people have now started to question the science and evidence behind these drastic measures which are continuing to take place by our government. We've seen government ministers flouting the rules, but have got away with being exempt from facing penalties. I guess the 'enforcement rules' only apply to the public. Yes! 'one rule for them and another for us', great stuff.

When WHO declared a global pandemic, social media went crazy with ‘conspiracy theorists’ talking about 'agenda 21, The Great Reset, and how the virus was an excuse to begin enforcing ‘their’ Plan. What plan? I asked myself! The mainstream media were only showing one narrative of the story. When social media started using their censorship and fact-checking powers on content that was misleading it was removed or deleted from the Internet. That's when I began wondering why doctors in this field were being silenced.

As a pattern started to emerge and MPs in parliament also wanted a law to be passed on anyone caught uploading or sharing anti-virus content on social media were to face some criminal charges, it then became evident to me that there was more to this virus.

The question that I wanted to ask was: “if all this anti-virus content being shared worldwide is all a conspiracy theory, then it shouldn’t really have any effect on the people who are governing the country”! But since it’s bothering the world leaders, then there must be more to this than just being a virus?

I’m no conspiracy theorist but like they say “there’s always two sides of a story”, I’m just trying to understand- just like many more people out there who are questioning the narrative, trying to make sense of this all. Nothing makes sense, it’s like we’re going round in circles trying to find a way out, by looks of it there’s no ’light at the end of the tunnel’.

If this year was difficult, brace yourselves for 2021, because it doesn’t look promising either. I think we will see less patience, more anger and fewer jobs. What a bleak picture to start the next year.

Let me conclude on a positive note...

I will end by saying this, try to arm yourself confidently with information, research, read, know your rights and build a strong network of people around yourselves. We know that 2020 has been a year of less human interaction, but knowing that there are support groups available online can give us reassurance and awareness. Most important of all is to stay strong for each other.

Pray 2021 brings hopes and prosperity and restores love and happiness.
